In the last couple of years, we have been supported by several key organisations here in Northern Ireland, including the Hastings Hotel Group, Titanic Quarter, the Belfast Harbour Commission, Elliot Duffy Garrett and W&G Baird. Financial and in-kind support from these companies helps us to present world-class opera to audiences in Northern Ireland, provides funds and/or facilities to develop outreach projects, supports educational events for children, and helps us train up-and-coming opera singers and creatives who join our ambitious NI Opera Studio programme each year.
For you as an organisation, supporting Northern Ireland Opera provides tangible benefits, including access to private events, charity gala evenings, priority seats for our major shows, recognition in our publicity material, and branding alignment. We can also bring our singers, creatives and musicians to you, perhaps to provide musical entertainment or activities at a corporate away day or families day, to deliver team-building activities based around music, costume design, storytelling or even performance skills like breathing exercises and managing stage-fright!
There are multiple CSR opportunities in helping us share the skills that are required to create an opera with communities and education settings across Northern Ireland. Storytelling with music, standing up and performing in front of an audience, learning to sing as a group, using technical skills like carpentry, sewing and electrical engineering to create sets, costume and lighting all build confidence, teamwork skills and a sense of achievement in the groups we work with in our outreach projects who span all ages. Find out more about some of the work we’ve done here.
If you prefer, you could support professional development for our up-and-coming young opera singers, helping them develop their professional careers and perhaps become the opera stars of the future, or sponsor a prize at our annual singing competition in the beautiful coastal town of Glenarm in County Antrim, now in its eleventh year. You can find out more about how we develop talent here.
Corporate support can take various forms: as well as financial we have also received ‘in-kind’ support from some of our sponsors, for example by reduced rates when using their services, or by the loan of rehearsal space. We are grateful for any help or assistance, financial or otherwise, both to help us to widen our audiences and to share the skills for life which opera can teach us all.
If you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch with Julia O’Hara at info@niopera.com. We work creatively with each of our corporate partners to ensure we come up with a sponsorship package that works for you.
