Carolyn Dobbin

Northern Irish mezzo-soprano taught Art & Design before graduating from the RSAMD. Carolyn was Associate Artist at WNO in 2010 and spent two years at Luzern theatre, Switzerland. She has performed extensively in opera, oratorio and in solo recitals, including appearances at ROH Linbury, ENO, ETO, Grange Park Opera, MWO, Opera Holland Park, Stadttheater Bern, Longborough and the RAH. CDs include Loders rare opera ‘Raymond and Agnes’ with Richard Bonynge, Ethel Smythes Fétè Gallant both for Retrospect Opera and a solo CD ‘Caleno’ with Delphian Records and Iain Burnside of songs by N. Irish composers. Recent roles include Madam Popova, Smeton/ Anna Bolena for LFO, Fenena/ Nabucco for DOF ,Mrs Peachum MWO, The Witch/ Hansel and Gretel for Irish National Opera and ‘Northern Songs’ for NIOpera, 20shots of opera for INO, Siegrune/Die Walküre 2023 LFO, Mary/Der Fliegende Höllander in 2022 with Sir Bryn Terfel and Cuniza in Verdi’s Oberto in London, Alexander’s Feast for le Foyer Des Artistes.
